Flight Design Reveals C4 Proof of Concept

German four-seater slated to fly soon.

Flight Design released photos of the first C4 proof of concept airplane ahead of the planned first flight in Germany.

The company said at AirVenture Oshkosh that the flight team is preparing the all-composite four-seater’s systems, controls and instrumentation for the maiden flight, scheduled to happen soon.

Additional work is being done on the other proof-of-concept aircraft being built for occupant protective dynamic testing and for additional static testing.

The C4 is a carbon high-wing light airplane evolved from Flight Design’s two-seat CT family that s projected to sell for $250,000. Flight Design plans to certify the airplane under new FAR Part 23 rules now being crafted by the FAA.
