One of the delights of Oshkosh is seeing new, innovative airplanes. The Lisa Akoya, an amphibious model destined for the LSA category, fits that bill to a tee.

The airplane, which will sell for around $350,000, features a range of approaches never before seen in any airplane. I spent a delightful hour with the folks from Lisa Airplanes walking around their diminutive Akoya LSA amphib and loving every second of the tour.

We look forward to flying the airplane once it gets its flying papers. It currently is going through flight testing, but has made more than 75 flights, including many on the water.

Click through the photo gallery to see how this little French company is opening a lot of eyes to the potential the lower costs of LSA certification afford.
