Citation Latitude Extends Range

Mid-size bizjet stretches its legs another 200 nm.

Cessna’s new Citation Latitude has extended its legs with a new range that maxes out at 2,500 nautical miles, bringing a 25 percent increase to its initial expected range of 2,000 nm.

The announcement was made last week at the Latin American Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition, and comes after a previous extension of the Citation Latitude’s range to 2,300 nm earlier this year.

The Citation Latitude was first unveiled last October at NBAA’s annual convention, and comes equipped with Garmin’s G5000 avionics system, as well as a pair of Pratt & Whitney PW306D engines that will give the aircraft the muscle to top out at a cruise speed of 440 knots.

One of the key selling points of the mid-size bizjet is its cabin, which boasts seating for eight, 16-plus feet of stand-up access as well as a width that surpasses all other Cessna aircraft.

The aircraft is expected to make its first flight in mid-2014, with first deliveries in 2015.
