Bombardier Unveils First NetJets Global 6000

Airplane sets new standard in cabin comfort.

Bombardier unveiled the first NetJets Global 6000 on Sunday at the NBAA Convention. The ultra-long-range jet will be handed over to the company in the coming weeks as part of what will go down as the second-largest aircraft purchase in the history of private aviation.

Equipped with the Pro Line Fusion avionics suite from Rockwell Collins, the Global 6000 couples advanced avionics with creature comfort of the highest level. Intricately designed to deliver a spacious feel, the jet’s cabin features seating for 13 passengers, as well as a full-service galley, a stand-up shower and a separate crew rest area for particularly lengthy trips.

In addition to its noteworthy cabin, the jet’s twin Rolls-Royce turbofans give the airplane the muscle needed to pair cities like L.A. and Moscow.

NetJets will receive a total of 30 Global 5000s and Global 6000s as part of the company’s whopping $2.8 billion aircraft purchase, announced earlier this year. In addition to the 5000 and 6000 jets, the deal also includes firm orders for 20 additional Global 7000s and 8000s, which will be delivered beginning in 2017.
